I’m Derek X Wang. I live in Los Angeles.

I’m a software engineer with over ten years of experience, and I’ve been building serverless apps on AWS since 2017.

Right now I’m building StreamerVerdict, game review scores from the YouTube creators you actually trust, and TypeRepo, where you type through well-made repos to get the feel for good code back. I’m also working on some AI developer tools. I build with coding agents these days, and Uses has the setup.

This page used to brag about seven websites across 21 environments for under $6 a month. True! But the side projects behind it had gone quiet, so in October 2026 I retired everything except this site. The ones that shipped got a small tomb on the Projects page. 🪦 I write here about what I build and learn. Hope you find something useful.
